    The official website for legislative information on the Internet, dating back to the 103rd Congress (1993-94). Available are bills, committee reports, legislative history, votes, etc.
  • FirstGov
    A meta site with links to all topical areas of the U.S. Government. Information on social security, Medicare, patents, immigration, energy, taxes, passports, and other subjects. Links to the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches, as well as state and local governments. Contains statistics, federal forms, and a FAQs section.
  • Congress.org
    Another directory to the Congress, with a strong focus on members. Includes biographies, committee assignments, and key staff. Includes a calendar of committee meetings and schedules of business for both houses. Features zip code identification and voting scorecard.
  • CRS Reports
    Selected reports prepared by the Congressional Research Service
  • Annals of Congress
    This Library of Congress site provides access to portions of the historical records of the proceedings of the United States Congress. Information is accessed via the Annals of Congress and covers the 1st Congress through the 1st session of the 18th Congress (1789 - 1824).

  • WashLaw
    The web page for Washburn University of Law. A comprehensive meta site that lists states alphabetically with links to federal and state case law, Circuit Courts, and other legal information. Provides full text searching of all sources.
  • FindLaw
    A list of state legal materials.
  • Legal Information Institute
    Cornell University’s index of legal materials from the 50 states
  • GPO Access: The U.S. Government Printing Office
    The GPO has a number of searchable databases for obtaining information printed or distributed by the federal government on behalf of the executive, judicial and legislative branches.
  • FedStats
    One stop shopping federal statistics. Offers statistics produced by over 70 agencies. Material is arranged by agency, subject matter and region, with searchable access.
  • Bureau of Labor Statistics
    Provides economic data for the nation, including employment rates, compensation and productivity figures, and the Consumer and Producer Price Indices. Also provides regional information.
  • Bureau of Census
    A comprehensive site for demographic data and census information. Special features include: population clock, state and county quick facts, and create a map option.
  • General Accounting Office
    A comprehensive site for information regarding the reports, opinions and evaluations produced by the GAO, the "investigative arm" of Congress. Click on GAO Reports for information on a variety of topics.
  • U.S. Federal Government Agencies Directory
    A complete directory of all federal agencies on the Internet, including government corporations, quasi-official agencies, boards, commissions, and agencies.
  • University of Michigan Documents Center
    An excellent site that connects to all areas of the Federal government. A gateway to the budget, statistical and tax information, and the Executive, Judicial and Legislative branches.
  • OYEZ U.S. Supreme Court Multimedia
    This site provides access to audio recordings of selected U.S. Supreme Court Cases as well as access to limited docket information and links to the most requested U.S. Supreme Court decisions.
